It’s been two decades since the Steve James/Kartemquim Films documentary “Hoop Dreams,” about two inner city hoops hopefuls in Chicago, debuted on the big screen, wowing audiences and critics (including the late Sun-Times critic Roger Ebert) alike.

Come Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m., in honor of its 20th anniversary, the onetime Oscar-contender will be screened at the Gene Siskel Film Center. Tickets are available at siskelfilmcenter.org.
