Remember the blue-eyed convict whose mugshot had ladies (and gents) swooning? Well, he’s still in jail on a $1.1-million bond, but the rumor mill over Independence Day weekend ran rampant. Some news agencies were reporting that Jeremy Meeks, who some ladies call the “hot convict,” signed a $30,000 modeling contract with Blaze Models. Turns out that’s not 100% true.
The New York Daily News is reporting that Meeks does have representation, but that he does not currently have a modeling contract. Furthermore, according to Meeks lawyer, it’s likely that nothing will go down until after his legal issues are settled. He has a hearing on July 8 in Stockton, Calif., where he was arrested on weapons charges.
Meeks is repped in part by Gina Rodriguez, who also reps Donald Sterling’s former girlfriend V. Stiviano and Nadya “Octo-mom” Suleman. Rodriguez told ABC News that the convict could earn from $3,000 to $100,000 per month from modeling and endorsements. She also told the Daily News that he had a second agent.:
“With Jeremy, we have not signed with Blaze Models. We’ve never even spoken to that agency and neither has his family.”
Rodriguez confirmed that Meeks now has a second agent handling potential modeling and endorsement deals.
Veteran talent agent Jim Jordan of the White Cross Management has agreed to help the career criminal go legit, Rodriguez said.
Meeks’ mugshot went viral following his most recent arrest. He became a trending topic on Twitter and his face launched a number of funny Twitter and Instagram hashtags, including #felonfriday and #prisonbae.
