Former Destiny’s Child mainstay Kelly Rowland is working hard to convince Spike Lee to cast her as Donna Summer in the new film he’s directing.

Along with pursuing all the usual channels — via agents, etc. — Rowland posted a convincing photo of herself on Instagram in a big, curly, Summer-esque wig to show she certainly has the right “look.”

Lee is set to make “Spinning Gold,” a biographical flick about the rise of Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart, who was responsible for launching KISS, Joan Jett, The Village People and, of course, the disco diva herself, Donna Summer, who died in May, 2012.

Justin Timberlake already is on board to play Bogart.
