Larry Wilmore’s ‘The Nightly Show’ takes on Cosby controversy

In only episode two of his “The Nightly Show” on Tuesday, Comedy Central’s newest host Larry Wilmore tackled the Bill Cosby scandal head-on.

Right at the outset, Wilmore declared Cosby guilty of sexually assaulting the growing number of women who have leveled charges against the comic and TV star since 2005 and especially in recent months.

“We’re asking the question: ‘Did he do it?’” Wilmore announced during his intro of the panel discussion to come. “The answer will be yes.”

Even though the statute of limitations has reportedly expired for all the cases save (possibly) one, Wilmore added, “there’s no statute of limitations to my opinion, and I’m telling you: That mother—— did it!”

More than enough women have come forward to convince him of that, he said, before veering into the darkly absurd.

“The current tally stands at 35 women. Really, folks, how many more do we need? Let’s understand this number. That’s like if Bill Cosby drugged and raped every U.S. president from George Washington to John F. Kennedy.”
