Leo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”

Quentin Tarantino meets the swinging ’60s? Yeah, that’s going to be a trip and a half.

The first trailer for Tarantino’s ninth film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” (in theaters July 26) arrived Wednesday with an explosion of star power – Leonardo DiCaprio! Brad Pitt! Margot Robbie! – and retro fun. What is it actually about, though? No earthly idea, but it sure is psychedelic, man.

Here’s what we know from the first bit of footage: The setting is Los Angeles, circa 1969, and DiCaprio stars as Hollywood actor Rick Dalton (who gets very emotional when a little girl tells him how good he is) and Pitt plays Rick’s stunt double Cliff Booth. They share some banter, Cliff kung-fu fights with Bruce Lee (Mike Moh) and Rick does a little cheesy TV show host dance.

Also showing off some smooth moves: Robbie as actress Sharon Tate, who’s seen in a few glimpses in the trailer, along with Playboy bunnies, hippies and other hallmarks of the era.

Putting a damper on all the fun? A brief wave hello from infamous psychopath Charles Manson (Damon Herriman), whose appearance hints this thing ain’t gonna end well.
