“Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes will host the real-life President at her L.A. home next week, but she’s leaving the party-planning details to her sister.

The July 23 shindig is a fundraiser for the Democratic National Convention. The Hollywood Reporter previously reported that ticket prices for the event range from $1,000 to $32,400, with top givers getting access to President Obama in a photo line and enjoying a reception, musical performance and intimate dinner attended by POTUS and 30 deep-pocketed couples.

When asked about the upcoming soiree at TV critics’ summer press tour in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, Rhimes made it clear she’s leaving the details to her sister, professional party planner Sandie Bailey.

“I don’t have anything to do with the preparations because I don’t do stuff like that; I am at work,” said the prolific TV producer and native of south suburban University Park. ABC has handed over its Thursday primetime line-up to Rhimes next season, when she’ll once again have a trio of shows on the air with long-running “Grey’s Anatomy,” the buzzy hit “Scandal” and newcomer “How to Get Away With Murder,” starring Viola Davis.

Regarding the fundraiser, Rhimes said “there are lots of things happening, planning going on and people talking about food and stuff. Those are not things that ever interest me.”

What does interest Rhimes: Helping Obama and his political party.

“It’s exciting to get involved in the process and to do something that feels active, like you’re trying to actively make some change,” she said.
