That Stephen Colbert would stay in New York City when he takes over next year for David Letterman was pretty much a given. But which venue he’d use for his show was a bit less certain.

According to a report from The Wrap, he’s staying put at the Ed Sullivan Theater, from which Letterman’s CBS talk show has emanated since he migrated from NBC to CBS in 1993.

“Today, I am pleased to announce that the ‘Late Show’ will stay in New York, where it belongs,” said New York governor Andrew Cuomo, who made a joint promotional statement with CBS boss Les Moonves. “New York has long been an international entertainment leader, and with this commitment from CBS we are beginning the next chapter in that proud history.”
