It’s game over for “The League:” Next season will be the last for FXX’s bawdy ensemble comedy.

Filmed in California but set in Chicago and Winnetka, “The League” stars Mark Duplass, Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, Steven Rannazzisi, Katie Aselton and Jon Lajoie as a group of friends obsessed — even that’s not strong enough a word — with fantasy football.

The seventh and final season will kick off next fall and include 13 episodes, according to an announcement made Monday by FX Networks and FX Productions.

“Most players in the NFL don’t make it seven seasons, and most TV shows even less so,” said co-creator Jackie Marcus Schaffer in an emailed statement.

“Spoiler alert — we already know how it will all end — with credits and the theme song,” added her husband and co-creator, Jeff Schaffer.

“The League” moved from its longtime home on FX to fledgling network FXX in 2013. The net said the show’s recently wrapped sixth season — which averaged just shy of 1 million viewers — ranked in the Top 20 among all key male demographics out of the year’s 84 comedy series in basic and pay cable.

For the vast majority of the season, “The League’s” ratings were in line with the previous season when it came to total viewers and the advertiser-coveted demo of 18- to 49-year-olds — even without the benefit of its former lead-in, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
