FORMATION NATION

She already was one of the most talked-about pop stars in the world, but when Beyonce released her album “Lemonade” in April along with its accompanying film and accompanying chatter about her cheating husband, the BeyHive flipped and has yet to come down. She’s been on the road ever since, in a set suggesting she “is more concerned with revealing her personality — and all of the emotions in her complicated life — than with bedazzling her audience with mere spectacle,” the Minneapolis Star Tribune said. HONORING THE FALLEN

Take a moment this weekend to remember the troops who gave their lives in defense of the United States and our Allies. GREEN SCENE

Celebrate all things Irish with the annual Gaelic Park Irish Fest, May 27-30, 6119 147th Street (two miles west of Cicero) in Oak Forest. PEDAL POWER

The 15th annual Bike the Drive bicycling event takes place on May 29, stating at 5:30 a.m. (arrive by 7 a.m.) along Lake Shore Drive (no cars allowed for the entire 5-hour event). Starting lines/entry points (you must pre-register online at bikethedrive.org) include: Columbus Drive and Jackson, Bryn Mawr Rest Stop, Museum of Science & Industry Rest Stop, Fullerton Check Point and Oakwood Check Point. Bike north to the Bryn Mawr Avenue Rest Stop and return: 15 miles; bike south to the Museum of Science and Industry Rest Stop and return: 15 miles; bike the entire loop: 30 miles. Everyone from beginners to seasons cyclists is invited to participate. The event benefits Active Transportation Alliance.

MORTALITY AT THE MATINEE

If your holiday weekend softball or hoops gets rained out, you can always stay inside and play chess with Death. “The Seventh Seal,” Ingmar Bergman’s allegorical 1957 classic about a knight (Max von Sydow) trading pawns with the Grim Reaper on the beach, will screen at 11:30 a.m. May 28 and 29 at the Music Box Theater, 3733 N. IN THE HOUSE

Chicago is invited to come out and celebrate all things house music from 3 to 9 p.m. May 28 at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. The free Chicago House Party will celebrate the genre, which had its genesis in Chicago more than 30 years ago. Featured at the event: The House Legacy Project (Jerry C King, Steve Miggedy Maestro, Rob Diggy on keyboards; Day Rock and Sam Glover on bass; Duane “Rude” Jones on guitar. Chuck Lacy and Phillip Glover on drums.
