‘Two and a Half Men’ finale to include ‘mystery sandwich’

PASADENA, Calif. — “Two and a Half Men” will cap off its 12th and last season Feb. 19 with what creator Chuck Lorre reportedly describes as a “mystery sandwich.”

No word on whether the mystery meat is former star Charlie Sheen.

CBS Entertainment Chief Nina Tassler was mum Monday on whether Sheen, who was fired from the show in 2011, will return for the finale as rumored. (With nothing but my gut instinct to go on, I bet he’ll be back.)

Sheen’s absence paved the way for Ashton Kutcher to join the once top-rated comedy that also stars Emmy-winner Jon Cryer, the sole member of the original core cast who’s lasted all 12 seasons. (Actor Angus T. Jones, who played Cryer’s character’s son, exited the show after Sheen.)

“I have to shout out to Chuck Lorre,” Tassler said at the TV critics’ press tour. “The journey that show has gone on over the years is pretty miraculous. I can promise you there will be a lot of surprises [in the finale].”

Lorre wasn’t at the press tour in person, but Tassler relayed what she said was a direct quote from the prolific TV producer: “He has promised to deliver what he is calling a ‘mystery sandwich.’”

“Two and a Half Men” airs at 8 p.m. Thursdays on WBBM-Channel 2.
