It’s no surprise, given Whitney Houston’s family is not participating in the upcoming Lifetime film about her life, but now Cissy Houston has come forward to overtly express her displeasure with the project.

In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” the superstar’s mom said she and her fellow family members are upset and “exhausted” by the “continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know” Whitney — pleading with fans to “please let her rest.”

The senior Houston also released a statement complaining that “Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie about Whitney in spite of my family’s objections. No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby[Brown].”

Directed by Angela Bassett, and featuring the singing voice of Deborah Cox (for Whitney Houston’s vocals), former “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Yaya DaCosta will play the late singer in the upcoming cable TV movie.
