Three Chicago restaurants were named among the Top 100 places to eat in the country, according to an annual ranking on Yelp.com.
The restaurants on the list include: Alinea (No. 19), the uber-tony eatery founded by Chef Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas; Girl and the Goat (No. 38), the West Randolph Street spot founded by “Top Chef” champ and James Beard Award-winner Stephanie Izard; and Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf (No. 98), the stylish, upscale steak house on West Kinzie, part of restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff’s Hogsalt Hospitality group.
The list was compiled from the all-time most popular and well-reviewed restaurants from across the country on Yelp. According to its website, “Yelp’s list of Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. for 2016 honors businesses that rank so highly in the Yelp community’s opinion that they have earned the status of ‘must try within this lifetime.’”
Topping this year’s list was Porto’s Bakery & Café in Burbank, Calif.
