Following the 46-10 rout of the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX, Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka felt the Bears defense was not given the respect they deserved.

During a press conference the day after Super Bowl XX, Ditka did not hold back in reminding reporters just how successful the 1985 Bears defense had been that season. According to Ditka, the Bears led the NFL in turnover ratio.

“We didn’t strip the football. We never stripped the football yesterday, did we?” Said Ditka. “We flat knocked it out of their hands.”
