Thirty years ago Tuesday, Mike Ditka was carried off the Superdome turf after the Bears’ dominating win over New England in Super Bowl XX.
After giving up an early field goal, Chicago scored 44 unanswered points before tacking on a late safety for good measure.
Defensive end Richard Dent was named Super Bowl MVP as he recored 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one blocked pass.
All four of Chicago’s offensive touchdowns came via the run, including this one-yard plunge from William “Refrigerator” Perry:
