General election

Candidates and special interest groups have been preparing for months for Chicago's school board elections this November. For many, that includes securing an all-too-important factor in American elections: cash.

Candidates had until June 24 to file petitions to get on the ballot in one of 10 districts across the city. The Chicago Sun-Times and WBEZ are tracking candidate contributions as they come in. For now, we are only tallying all reported individual contributions over $150 to each candidate in every district. Small donations and in-kind contributions are not included in the total.

Total raised by each district

Every election has its own DNA that makes it unique. The same is true of the 10 school board electoral districts. Here's a breakdown of what has been raised in each district so far by candidates who have filed nomination signatures with the Chicago Board of Elections and will be on the ballot pending challenges.
