Man killed in Ukrainian Village crash

The 33-year-old was driving a Toyota sedan when his car was struck by another vehicle in the 2000 block of West Augusta Boulevard, police said.

A man was killed in a vehicle crash Saturday in Ukrainian Village.

About 3:30 a.m., a 23-year-old man driving a Mazda sedan north on Damen Avenue struck a Toyota sedan traveling east in the 2000 block of West Augusta Boulevard, Chicago police said.

The driver of the Toyota, a 33-year-old man, was transported to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Moiz Uddin of West Rogers Park. An autopsy found he died of multiple injuries from the crash and ruled his death an accident.

The 23-year-old driver of the Mazda sedan suffered a dislocated hip and was also transported to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

The driver of the Mazda may have gone through a red light, according to preliminary information from police.

Charges and citations may be pending, police said.

Area Three detectives and the CPD Major Accidents Unit are investigating.
