A person was killed and six were injured Monday evening in a crash in southwest suburban Kendall County.

Two vehicles collided about 5:30 p.m. near Millington and Rodgers roads, according to a statement from the Kendall County sheriff’s office.

When police and paramedics arrived, they discovered one passenger dead at the scene, and several other people hurt, police said.

One person was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries, and five other people were taken to hospitals nearby, police said.

The area around that intersection is expected to be closed for several hours as authorities investigate.

The intersection is located in Fox Township, about 10 miles southwest of Yorkville.
