A 16-year-old boy was shot twice in the hip around 5:40 p.m. Saturday evening as he walked in the 3300 block of West Washington Street in East Garfield Park on the city’s West Side.

The police said someone came up behind and shot him, then ran off.

The boy got to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition, the police said.
