A 17-year-old girl was shot and seriously wounded early Monday in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side.

She was riding as passenger in a vehicle about 2:45 a.m. in the 7100 block of North Clark when another car pulled alongside and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The girl was struck in the back and taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious condition, police said.
