A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 18-year-old was standing outside about 3:20 p.m. when someone fired shots from a dark-colored van as it drove by in the 3100 block of West Madison Street, Chicago Police said.

He suffered a gunshot wound to his back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital by paramedics, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The van was last seen headed west on Madison Street.
