A 14-year-old boy shot another teen during a robbery Monday night before shooting himself in the leg in the South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood.

He robbed the other 14-year-old boy about 8:35 p.m. in the 5200 block of South Morgan, according to Chicago Police. During the robbery, he shot the victim in the arm and the bullet became lodged in his chest.

The suspect also shot himself in the leg during the incident, police said. Both boys were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized.

Charges against the suspect were pending Tuesday morning, police said.
