A 20-year-old man was shot Monday night in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

He was standing on the sidewalk about 9 p.m. in the 600 block of North Kedzie when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police. He had been shot in the right foot.

The man took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
The man suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
