The Cubs completed one of their most embarrassing collapses on the 100th anniversary of their last World Series title.
For the second straight year, the Cubs couldn’t get a clutch hit from any of their high-priced players and got swept.
This year it was the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Cubs took the best record in the National League into the playoffs and got swept again. It was an all-around tumble. Ryan Dempster struggled in Game 1, the defense stunk in Game 2 and the problem with Game 3 was the common bond – no offense.
Alfonso Soriano and Aramis Ramirez stunk.
Embarrassing.
