Paul Edingers stay with the Rush of the Arena League lasted only a week as it was announced he was released Monday evening.

The ex-Bears kicker has been seeking work since last playing for the Minnesota Vikings in 2005.

He signed with the Rush in hopes of catching on and proving that he was still a viable option for an NFL team. He’s had a few tryouts for NFL teams, most recently with the Giants last spring, but isn’t in the regular rotation of free agents that seemed to be called to whatever city has a kicking crisis.
