DT Walker next to go

Defensive tackle Darwin Walkers $5.2 million roster bonus was far too much for the team to consider paying.

Thus, the veteran was released on Monday in another of the teams moves. Walker battled knee, elbow and wrist injuries for most of the season after being acquired at the start of training camp from the Buffalo Bills for a fifth-round pick.

He was needed because the team was forced to cut ties with Tank Johnson. Fortunately, another defensive tackle stepped forward in Anthony Adams. He played well until surgery on his arm shut him down in December. Adams is under contract through 2010.

More details soon.
