Fish of the Week photos (first time from 4-9-08)

We begin posting Fish of the Week photos with a 16-pound brown trout caught by Nick Milkovich Jr. off Gary Light. It was FOTW on April 9 in the Midwest Fishing Report in the Sun-Times.

Tomorrow, we will post Chris Taglieri’s steelhead from Burnham, FOTW on April 16, then begin posting FOTW photos by roughly dawn on Wednesdays.

I start posting online FOTW phots with Milkovich’s fish because it is also a visually interesting.

Milkovich, a 13-year-old from Munster, Ind. caught the brown fishing squid under a slip-bobber while out with his brother Luke and his dad on their friend Capt. Ralph Steiger’s boat on March 29.

FOTW, lead item in the Midwest Fishing Report in the Sun-Times on Wednesdays, began on April 18, 2007 with a 39-inch blue catfish caught by Mike Lynch at LaSalle Lake.

So it seems apt to have begin posting photos online nearly to the day a year later.
