Drunk boating charge could leave Benson needing to hitch a ride

When Cedric Benson returns to the Bears voluntary offseason workout program (assuming that happens), he might need a lift to work.

If so, Benson could be rolling without his drivers license whether hes in Austin, Texas, the Halas Hall parking lot, or any point in between.

According to an outline of events surrounding Bensons arrest that was provided by the Lower Colorado River Authority, Benson refused to submit to an Intoxilyzer (breath) test when he was in custody at Travis County Central Booking. In DWI cases in Texas, when a suspect refuses a test to determine his blood/alcohol concentration, he is served with a notice of suspension and his license is confiscated. If the boating laws are identical, Benson lost his driving privileges Saturday night, at least temporarily.
