Fish of the Week: Family bass

Christy Schmidt earns Fish of the Week honors with this 22.5-inch largemouth weighing 4.75 pounds, as much for the fish as her sharp brother.

FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report in the Sun-Times each Wednesday. An extended online version usually appears here by midnight Tuesday.

Here’s the first word from the Des Plaines woman:

I am sending this photo in because my brother told me it was one of the best bass he has seen come out of Paw Paw lake in Watervliet Mi. I caught this bass while sitting on the pier with a bobber and night crawler. Bass measured 22.5″ inches and weight 4.75lbs.

And here are more details:

I caught the bass this past Saturday afternoon [Oct. 10] about 2:30 pm at my folks summer housein Watervliet, Mi.

Her brother was sharp to know to send FOTW submissions to outdoordb@sbcglobal.net.
