FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report each Wednesday in the Sun-Times. An extended online version is posted here, usually by midngiht Tuesday. We’re cutting it close tonight.

Thanks to Randy Radtke for sending the nomination:

Joey DiSomma, a member of the Fenwick Bass team did some practice over the week end on a small farm pond near Cuba , Illinois . Using his favorite pig & jig and despite some chilly weather he landed this 6.1 pound 22 inch beauty.

I didn’t know the coaches of the Friars fishing team, so I asked and Radtke said,

I am one of the coaches. Ron stuart is the main coach along with Joey’s dad Bill. Joey is a junior and competed in last year’s first ever IHSA sectional.

I still just love hearing that “first ever IHSA sectional” in regards to tournament bass fishing.
