DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

In the morning, as a follow up to the small business announcement last week that would increase the caps for existing SBA loans and give smaller banks better access to TARP funding to encourage more lending, the President will deliver remarks in the South Court of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building to members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), and small business owners and organizations from across the country on the Administration’s plan to help small businesses, including increased access to capital and health reform that gives small businesses the ability to control health costs. This event is pooled press.

In the afternoon, the President will meet with Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore in the Oval Office. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting.

Later, the President will meet with Senator Patrick Leahy in the Oval Office. The meeting is closed press. The President will then sign the Girl Scouts USA Centennial Commemorative Coin Act in the Oval Office. The First Lady will also attend. The signing is closed press. The President will also meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

The President will then meet with representatives of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Congressional Black Caucus, Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus on health insurance reform in the Roosevelt Room. This meeting is closed press.
