DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2009

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing and meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.

Later, the President will deliver remarks at an event highlighting several initiatives designed to boost science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education in South Court Auditorium in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. This event is pooled press. The President’s remarks will be live streamed and then at 1:00PM EDT, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Office of Science and Technology Policy Director John Holdren will hold a live online chat to discuss the initiatives. Both events will be available at www.WhiteHouse.gov/live.

The President and the Vice President will then have lunch in the Private Dining Room. This lunch is closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will hold a Cabinet meeting in the Cabinet Room. There will be a pool spray at the bottom of the meeting. The President will then meet with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

In the evening, the President will deliver remarks and present the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award to Magodonga Mahlangu and her organization, Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA), in an East Room ceremony. The First Lady will also attend. This event is pooled press.
