Photo finish Fish of the Week

The break in the weekend weather brought out many fishermen.

It really paid off for Brad Carder.

The 49-year-old concrete worker from Aurora had a photo finish on this 19-inch smallmouth from the Fox River near Oswego.

FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report each Wednesday in the Sun-Times. Photos and an extended version appears here, usually by midnight Tuesday.

Here’s Carder’s snapshot of his catch: :

In a nutshell, I was fishing from the bank a half mile South of Oswego with a bobber and minnow just letting it float from up stream to down. I was trying to take a picture of an 18″er I had just caught. When I got done taking the picture, I turned around and my bobber was gone. The one in the picture (you did get the pic?) was on the other end.

I get the picture and got the picture.
