Viciedo is in camp

GLENDALE, Ariz. – As Ozzie Guillen called him this week, “The Cuban Pimp” has checked into camp.

Walking side-by-side with shortstop – and fellow Cuban – Alexei Ramirez, Dayan Viciedo arrived into spring camp Wednesday morning.

He shook hands with teammates and the media and will have his first press conference on Thursday.

Any concerns of his weight were quickly put to rest, as the 19-year-old looked close to the 240 pounds he is listed at in the media guide, rather than the 260-270 people were claiming he ballooned up to this winter.

Now the real question is can the baby-faced Viciedo play?

He’s already got a major-league ride, that’s for sure.
