DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2009

Tomorrow morning, President Obama will deliver brief remarks about the Fiscal Year 2010 budget in Room 350 of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. He will speak about the need to invest in energy, education, and health care in order to rebuild our economy, while also setting us on the path to fiscal discipline as the only sure way to long-term growth and prosperity. The Vice President will also attend. This will be pooled for TV and open to all others.

Later in the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing and meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.

In the afternoon, the President and Vice President will have lunch. The President will then meet with the Congressional Black Caucus in the State Dining Room. This meeting will be closed press. The President and Vice President will also meet with Treasury Secretary Geithner and Secretary of State Clinton in the afternoon. These meetings are closed press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will meet with members of the Chicago Bulls in the Blue Room. This will be closed press.

Also tomorrow OMB Director Peter Orszag and Council of Economic Advisors Chair Christina Romer will hold a news conference to discuss the budget in room 450 at 11:00AM at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
