DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

WEDNESDAY, MAY 12, 2010

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with President Karzai of Afghanistan in the Oval Office. There will be a pool spray for still photographers at the bottom of the meeting. Later in the morning, the President will hold a joint press conference with President Karzai in the East Room. The press conference is open press.

In the afternoon, the President and President Karzai will have lunch along with several members of the U.S. national security team and their Afghan counterparts in the Cabinet Room. This lunch is closed press.

Later, the President will meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Also tomorrow, beginning at 10:00AM, Solicitor General Elena Kagan will travel to Capitol Hill to meet separately with Senator Reid, Senator McConnell, Senator Leahy, Senator Sessions, Senator Durbin, Senator Hatch, Senator Kohl, and Senator Feinstein.
