Fuerza Bruta: Look Up

Friday-Sunday at Auditorium Theatre; $65-$80; get tickets here

This collision of music, emotion and kinetic aerial imagery resembles nothing less than a fantastic mash-up between aerial theater and a late-night dance party. Be warned: There is no seating, so you’ll be on your feet right on stage for the entire hour-plus show.

Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival

Noon Saturday-Sunday at Belmont and Sheffield; $5 donation

Festival season kicks into full swing, with all of the usual suspects on stage: Trippin’ Billies, Wedding Band, Too White Crew and a whole mess of other cover bands and local favorites. There will also be plenty of food and other festival fun along Sheffield.

The Complete Lost Works Of Samuel Beckett…

5 p.m. Saturday at Steppenwolf Merle Reskin Garage Theatre; $15

Hey! Wanna hear a secret? Theater Oobleck’s fringe blockbuster is back! The ephemeral nature of theater means that even dedicated superfans can miss major events, but Oobleck’s bid to preserve “Beckett” on film means that you’ll have at least one more chance to see it as it was meant to be seen – live. Playing for just one performance, at the extremely odd time of 5 p.m.

Bike the Drive

5:30 a.m. Sunday along Lake Shore Drive; $42

The annual 15-mile bike ride down car-free Lake Shore Drive is a unique experience, if not a cheap one. The thousand-strong event will be followed by a festival in Grant Park’s Butler Field (8 a.m.-noon) featuring live entertainment, giveaways and $7 breakfast options from Goose Island Brew Pub. Participants also get free entry to the Randolph Street Market Festival.

Ridge Run/Memorial Day Festival

Monday at Ridge Park, 9625 S. Longwood Dr.; $15-$30

There’s a reason this is a Chicagoland favorite after more than 30 years. Great organizers, historic race scenery, and an all-inclusive vibe mark this fun event. There’s something for everyone: kids can bring their stuffed animals in for a check-up at the Teddy Bear Clinic while ambitious adults consider how to beat Tom Fitzpatrick’s long-standing 10K course record.
