DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 2011

In the morning, the President, the First Lady, the Department of Education, and the Department of Health and Human Services will welcome students, parents, teachers and others to the White House for a Conference on Bullying Prevention. The conference will bring together communities from across the nation who have been affected by bullying as well as those who are taking action to address it. Participants will have the opportunity to talk with the President and representatives from the highest levels of his Administration about how all communities can work together to prevent bullying.

The President and the First Lady will meet with a small group of students and parents from the Conference on Bullying Prevention in the Oval Office. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting.

Afterwards, the President and the First Lady will deliver remarks at the Conference on Bullying Prevention in the East Room. The President and the First Lady’s remarks will be open press.

In the afternoon, the President will meet with a bicameral, bipartisan group of legislators to discuss the reauthorization of ESEA, also known as No Child Left Behind. Meeting participants include Representatives Kline, Miller, Hunter, Kildee and Senators Harkin, Enzi, Bingaman, and Alexander. The President looks forward to working with this bipartisan group of leaders to revise the federal law so that it is more fair, flexible, and focused on helping all students to graduate ready for college and careers. There will be a spray for pool still photographers only at the top of the meeting.

Later in the afternoon, the President will meet with Secretary of the Treasury Geithner in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.
