WASHINGTON–Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn hits Washington on Thursday, where he will meet with the Illinois congressional delegation, attend a St. Patrick’s Day party at the White House and, in his new role as finance chair of the Democratic Governor’s Association, host a event for donors.
Quinn will discuss a variety of Illinois issues with the delegation; he told me when we talked a few weeks ago he barely knows some of the five freshman House members.
The 19 Illinois House delegation for the 112th Congress is made up of 11 Republicans and 8 Democrats. The new members are all Republican–Rep. Robert Dold, Rep. Randy Hultgren, Rep. Adam Kinzinger and Rep. Bobby Schilling.
Quinn will also sit down with Illinois reporters on Thursday.
In his role as the national finance chair for the DGA, Quinn hosts two DGA events at the American Gas Association, with two donor groups: a “Chairman’s Board Meeting” followed by a “Governors’ Series Luncheon”
