WASHINGTON–Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn will lunch with Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel on Friday in Chicago, and he dubbed the incoming mayor an “aggressive progressive” just like himself.

“We have a progressive mayor-elect and a progressive governor and we want to be progressive and aggressive,” Quinn told reporters for Illinois news outlets, meeting with them after a session with the Illinois congressional delegation on Thursday.

“Aggresive and progressive, that’s my goal. Starts with jobs.”

Quinn, pulling out a card from his suit coat, said he had a list of state and city issues to go over with Emanuel, who will take office in mid-May.
