Defenseman Brian Campbell looked and felt much better after Wednesday’s morning skate. His injured left foot held up just fine.

So will he play Wednesday against the Florida Panthers?

“There’s a good chance,” Campbell said. “I feel there’s a good shot at it.”

Campbell tested out his injury Tuesday at practice, his first with the team in more than a week. He had skated on his own before that, but Tuesday was the first time he felt “good” afterward.

“I felt good,” Campbell said. “That was the best part about it. I felt good this morning and all day [Tuesday], even after skating. It’s something that hasn’t happened before, so it’s a good time for hit.”

The Hawks certainly need Campbell, who is a plus-28. He’s expected to be paired with Chris Campoli.

“I thought he looked really good,” coach Joel Quenneville said. “He pushed himself more than he did [Tuesday]. He looks like he’s ready to go. He’s likely to play.”
