At Northwestern men’s basketball practice Tuesday, senior forward Mike Capocci sat out with what coach Bill Carmody said was a headache. But on Wednesday it was learned that Capocci not only has a concussion, but had to have seven staples put into the back of his head after Capocci fell in his apartment Tuesday morning, an NU spokesperson said.

Capocci, who started the past two games in place of the injured JerShon Cobb, will not play in the Big Ten tournament when play begins Thursday. The NU spokesperson said Capocci’s staples were put in Tuesday morning when he was taken to a local hospital after the fall.
