WASHINGTON–President Obama and First Lady Michelle fly to Chicago on Wednesday afternoon to tape an Oprah Winfrey show, and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was asked Monday why the First Couple agreed to the interview.
“Her show is coming to a conclusion of a — of a terrific run,” said Carney of Winfrey’s decision to fold the show this year after 25 years.
“And I think, as you know, he considers Oprah a friend and he looks forward to being on the show with the first lady.”
