Mulling things on my morning ramble
with Storm, the family’s mixed Lab.
Well, the geese on the island weren’t on their nest yesterday morning. So I started looking around.
Out in the main part of the south town pond, I found the pair of them protectively flanking goslings.
I counted five or six.
If my memory is right, that is pretty close to normal hatching date, maybe a couple days later than usual.
Wild April weather or not, the marks of the seasons march on.
This morning, another one of the nesting pairs was swimming with goslings.
I am curious if the usual seven pairs nested around the town pond or not.
I’ll know in a few days.
Odd morning. The sun was shining. Showers are in the forecast.
