WASHINGTON–President Obama, First Lady Michelle, Malia and Sasha went to services on Sunday morning at St. John’s Episcopal Church. The Obama family rarely attends public church services; Sunday was the eighth time Obama attended church in Washington since becoming president. The family walked to the church, about a block from the White House.
They entered St. Johns at 10:28 a.m. and left at 11:35 a.m., according to the pool report.
The seventh time was April 24, 2011, when President Obama, First Lady Michelle, Malia and Sasha headed to Easter services on Sunday morning at Shiloh Baptist Church.
The sixth time was Sept. 19, 2010 when the Obama family walked across Lafayette Square from the White House to St. John’s Episcopal Church.
For Easter 2010, the Obama family worshiped at Allen Chapel AME, the fifth time Obama attended church in Washington.
For Easter 2009, the Obama family attended services at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
