Another No. 23 gets engaged: LeBron James proposes to longtime girlfriend

MIAMI – Last week, Michael Jordan got engaged to longtime girlfriend Yvette Prieto, a Cuban-American model.

Now, it’s another high flier’s turn to pop the question.

LeBron James asked longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson to marry him Saturday night at a party to celebrate his 27th birthday and New Year’s Eve.

King James’ high school sweetheart said “yes.” They have two sons together.

A representative for James confirmed the news to The Associated Press on Sunday morning, a few hours after close friend Chris Paul and Miami Heat owner Micky Arison were among those tweeting their congratulations. AP
