The fierce American Indian activist died Monday morning at the age of 72.

Here is my report from a rather intense 1997 one on one interview, where he told me, in part, that he put a curse on the Cleveland Indians baseball team.

His father, by the way, was a member of the Pine Ridge (Reservation) High School basketball team that in 1936 won South Dakota’s first state Class B tournament.
