Horror-movie host Rich Koz, better known as Svengoolie, is recovering after a heart attack Saturday.

On his Svengoolie Twitter and Facebook accounts Sunday, the following message was posted: “After a very busy Halloween holiday season, I’ll be taking a short reprieve from updating my blog. Daily updates will return soon!”

A press release from Weigel Broadcasting Co., which airs Koz’s show locally on WCIU-TV and nationally on Me-TV network, said, “Rich’s condition is improving and his family has asked for privacy at this time.”

Koz is a Chicago native and graduate of Maine East High School and Northwestern University.
