Tillman, Paea out for Bears

Two of the Bears’ best defenders will miss Thursday night’s game against the Giants.

Defensive tackle Stephen Paea (turf toe) and cornerback Charles Tillman (knee) are on the team’s inactives list. Zack Bowman will start in Tillman’s place.

Tillman would have not practiced all week had the Bears held more than walk-throughs. He hasn’t missed a start since 2009.

Landon Cohen, the former Cowboys defensive tackle signed off the street less than two weeks ago, figures to start alongside converted end Corey Wootton for the Bears. Christian Tupou, signed this week after Nate Collins was lost for the season with a torn ACL, will be active. Zach Minter, who’s yet to play this season, figures to see snaps, too.

The Bears’ other inactives: safety Anthony Walters, tackle/guard James Brown, tackle Jonathan Scott, tight end Steve Maneri and defensive tackle Cornelius Washington.

The Giants’ inactive list includes: quarterback Ryan Nassib, running back David Wilson, cornerback Corey Webster, cornerback Jayron Hosley, safety Cooper Taylor, center David Baas and tight end Adrien Robinson.
