In case you missed it, there was a marathon in Chicago on Sunday. A little more than 40,000 pounded the city’s pavement for 26 miles in a test of endurance and fortitude.

But it all starts with those first steps. In this time lapse video, shot from the BP Bridge, you’ll see all 40,230 runners as they started the race stream by in just over a minute.
