Tapeko, one of Brookfield Zoo’s resident dolphins, gave birth yesterday and we couldn’t be happier to add another entry to the ‘adorable baby animals born in Chicago this year’ file.

The male dolphin was born October 16 and weight in at a hefty 40 pounds.

According to the zoo, dolphin presentations have been suspended to give the newborn and his mother time to bond and get acquainted with other dolphins.

Chicago has previously welcomed a rhino, a giraffe and a snow leopard in 2013. It’s been a good year for cute animals.
